Network Intelligence and End-to-End Integration

The six Lighthouse Projects spearhead cutting-edge research. The projects tackle high-level topics and experimentation, driving targeted Mini Projects to solve specific challenges within the field.

Lighthouse Project 1 (LP1) focuses on network intelligence and end-to-end integration. The work’s outcomes will help drive improvements in network performance, efficiency, and the ability to provide seamless and reliable services.

LP1 Lead: Professor Dimitra Simeonidou, University of Bristol.

Adopting advanced network intelligence and integrated solutions is crucial to meeting the increasing demands of modern communication systems.

LP1’s looks at:

  • New open architectures for E2E
  • Intelligent multi-access controller
  • AI-native networks
  • Network optimisation using AI/ML

Mini Projects

LP1 leads the following Mini Projects:

  • MP1 – Multi access technology real-time intelligent controller (MATRIC)
  • MP2 – Adaptable and robust AI for networks – feeds into cross cutting themes on ” Network Artificial intelligence” and extends to CHEDDAR and All Spectrum Hubs
  • MP3 – AI as network Service – feeds into CHEDDAR and All Spectrum Hubs
  • MP4 – End to end integration of 5 layer non terrestrial network (NTN to terrestial network TN)
  • MP5 – Adversarial Machine Learning for communication Network
  • MP6 – Federated multi-modal learning for sensing and communications

Each of these projects will soon have its own web pages. Coming soon!
